HOUSTON – Attorneys Robert Burford and Matt Parks from the Houston business litigation firm Burford Perry are being recognized for their extensive accomplishments in commercial litigation in the 2023 Chambers USA rankings.

Mr. Burford once again earned a spot on the roster of the leading lawyers for business lawsuits based on interviews with law firm clients and other lawyers. In addition, Mr. Parks claimed his first ranking on Chambers USA’s Up and Coming list of the state’s top young lawyers.

The individual honors for Mr. Burford and Mr. Parks follow the firm’s ranking in the 2023 Chambers USA Regional Spotlight based on work for business clients. The Regional Spotlight series features the country’s leading law firms with fewer than 50 partners.

Earlier this year, Mr. Burford led a team of attorneys that won a $155 million jury verdict in a complex fraud and bread of fiduciary duty lawsuit. Mr. Perry then lead a team that prevailed in an appeal to the Eighth District Court of Appeals, which reversed a trial court decision on crucial issues concerning a post-judgment turnover receiver’s authority and the limits Texas’ charging order statute place on execution of an LLC membership interest.

The firm’s recent victories also include a confidential settlement on behalf of the family of a college student who was shot and killed by a campus police officer and a $7 million property foreclosure judgment involving a popular shopping center in Houston.
