Counseling individuals as well as Texas and out-of-state businesses in several industries, he advocates in a wide range of wrongful death/personal injury matters, such as motor vehicle collisions, job-related injuries, products liability, and medical malpractice, as well as commercial litigation cases, including disputes over ad valorem taxation, business ownership and dissolution, contract disputes, collections, and probate matters, among others.


    Known for his legal acumen and dedication to his clients, Jay carefully but efficiently addresses their concerns and employs innovative strategies to obtain the most optimal resolutions possible.     Jay’s previous positions as a personal injury attorney and commercial litigator at two other law firms and as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s office required many courtroom appearances. Throughout his career he has applied his trial skills in more than 60 cases involving issues such as motor vehicle collisions, wrongful death, premises liability, medical malpractice, workplace injuries, and criminal matters.


    Always closely following the Texas Supreme Court, Jay draws on his extensive knowledge of the rulings and workings of state’s high bench to strategically guide clients. In addition to speaking frequently on the subject at legal conferences and seminars, he also publishes his annual review of the court’s recent decisions in his Texas Supreme Court Update, which lawyers value for its astute analysis.
